Travel Requirements
American citizens born in the U.S. require either a non-cancelled passport (valid or expired by up to 5 years) or an original state issued birth certificate (issued by the Department of Health & Vital Statistics) accompanied by a valid photo ID. Please note that copies of birth certificates are not acceptable. American citizens born outside the U.S. require either an American passport (valid or expired by up to 5 years) or an original naturalization certificate accompanied by a valid photo ID.
Please note that passport application receipts will not be accepted for travel.
Effective June 2008, as required by U.S. Government, all passengers including U.S. citizens, will be required to be in possession of a valid passport when traveling with Discovery to or from the Bahamas.
U.S. legal alien residents must present their non-expired alien resident card. (U.S. legal alien residents that are Bahamian citizens must also present their Bahamian passport).
Canadian citizens require either a Canadian passport or a Canadian citizenship ID accompanied by another valid government issued photo ID.
All other travelers must have valid passports from their country of origin in conjunction with a multiple entry U.S. visa and if necessary a Bahamian visa, (please check with the Bahamian Consulate).
Passengers under 18 years of age (traveling without their parents or guardian) require a notarized written parental consent for travel and must be accompanied by an adult. Advance reservations and payment required. Please allow at least two hours for check in
Cancellations prior to sailing, no shows or passengers denied boarding, are subject to an additional charge per person; future reservations may be made for an additional charge per person re-booking fee. Other policies and penalties may apply.
